Climate Controlled Storage

Defence Vehicle Services has a 9000 square feet of brick, concrete and glass warehouse, heated, illuminated and dehumidified.

The roof appears to be bomb-proof cast concrete, a legacy of it’s 1930’s origin and the floor consists of about 1/4 inch thick linoleum, all of which combines to provide a safe, stable and controllable environment for your pride and joy.

Humidity is controlled at a consistent 50% +/- 10%, which, combined with the insulating effect of a quality dust cover – supplied as part of the service*, prevents the moisture and temperature fluctuations that cause metals to corrode and upholstery to decay.

Maintenance and Preservation

The are three levels of storage service depending on your specific requirement.

Bronze package:

  • Climate controlled, secure storage.
  • No minimum period at a budget price.
  • Battery life is maintained by automatic trickle charger for optimum battery life and reliability.

Silver package:

  • All features of "Bronze".
  • Inspection and preservation services including cotton cover and automatic battery maintenance.

Gold package:

  • Includes all the above services.
  • Valet routine.
  • Full temperature engine run.
  • Fluids, clutch and brake check with documented report.
  • Prior to collection from storage, a final inspection is undertaken to confirm road-worthiness and cleanliness.

With all packages access is available 24/7 though the MoD conditions require us to provide “adequate notice”.
In practice, this can be as little as 2 hours but it is strongly recommended that as much notice as possible is given to ensure that the pass is issued as required.

Additional Services Include:

  • Parts/equipment storage in 1m³ steel mesh stillages.
  • Service, maintenance and MoT testing arranged.
  • Client drop-off and collection from local railway stations and Heathrow / Birmingham / Coventry Airport
